Manager / Director Human Resources

This is a Full-time position in Boston, MA posted March 6, 2021.

Job Description This position is responsible for working directly with all levels of management to design, implement and align Human Resource (HR) strategies with business strategy to achieve optimal business performance and results.

In addition, this position provides advice and guidance on diverse and complex HR and business issues to senior divisional leaders.

Delivers Human Resources strategic and tactical initiatives for the Retail Bank Division in an HR valued Business Partner role for approximately 300 employees.

Acts as a consultant to divisional leaders on organizational and HR related issues, including but not limited to, performance/talent management, employee relations, and employee engagement to promote and maintain high performance culture.

Position located in our Danvers, Massachusetts office.Influences, collaborates with and mobilizes HR functional experts and operational resources throughout the organization to support the business unit.

Leads change and continuous improvement through the creation and implementation of strategies to support short and long term HR and business goals that ensure maximum performance and alignment.

Leads and communicates the implementation of key centralized HR initiatives for the businesses supported.

Identifies trends, gaps and opportunities in areas such as workforce planning and staffing, total rewards, managerial and functional skills and knowledge, performance management and succession planning.

Collaborates with senior managers on all aspects of identified issues, including creating, implementing and communicating effective solutions and the resulting outcomes.

Establishes and utilizes measurement criteria to analyze, evaluate and quantify progress and results.

Monitors trends and new developments in HR laws and practices and works to implement best practices, policies and procedures to achieve optimal business results while remaining compliant with the HR laws and regulations in a multi-state environment.

Ensures consistent and equitable administration, interpretation and application of human resource laws, policies and practices.Provides coaching and support to executive and senior management to resolve complex people and management issues.

Advises senior management on sensitive HR issues.

Provides guidance and direction on leadership development efforts to ensure succession plan is current, appropriate and addresses strategic business needs.

Participates in key talent hires as needed.

Drives the recruitment process to ensure hiring decisions are based on business knowledge and needs.Lead and coach a team of HR professionals to support the business.Provide data analysis and reporting solutions based on business needs.Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.Job Requirements College degree or equivalent work experience required.7-10 years relevant experience for Director Level5-8 years relevant experience for Manager LevelExperience managing a team of HR professionals.Ability to travel up to 25% within Mass., NH, VT, MaineCertification/License:Behavioral/Technical Skills:Excellent theoretical and practical expertise in all Human Resource disciplines.

Strong knowledge of employment law.Demonstrated ability to contribute expertise in the design and implementation of policies, procedures and practices for a wide range of functions including staffing and recruiting, performance management, employee development, employee relations, compensation and benefits that are aligned with the business objectives of the unit(s) supported.Demonstrated ability to build constructive and effective working relationships, influence others and diffuse high-tension situations using diplomacy and tact, thereby minimizing the impact to the business environment.Excellent research and project management skills with a demonstrated ability to manage projects from inception through completion.Excellent analytical ability to interpret data and determine the financial impact and to identify and resolve underlying or hidden problems related to organization effectiveness.

Excellent presentation, written and verbal skills and business acumen are required to interact frequently and closely with executive and senior management.

Superior ability to coach, facilitate, make presentations and deliver training for audiences of all sizes.Superior problem solving abilities using facilitation to bring out the best ideas in others.Superior ability to recognize and focus on critical issues, balance and respond to competing needs within the organization.Superior ability to educate, inform and influence a wide range of employees to support corporate goals and objectives related to organization effectiveness.
