Manager, College Recruiting

Dollar Tree Stores

This is a Full-time position in Chesapeake, VA posted December 7, 2021.

Position Summary:
Responsible for the design, development, and program management of Talent Acquisition strategies which provide a pipeline of next generation of top talent (intern and college grads) to the Dollar Tree/Family Dollar organization by creating collaborative relationships with key colleges and universities. In addition they are responsible for all university relations programs including establishing and cultivating long term relationships with target universities, developing a strong presence on campus, partnering with the career center leadership, and developing the recruiting plan and process for each year’s class of recruits.
Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish Campus relationships and evaluate selection process year over year.
  • Develop and nurture relationships with Professors, Deans, and career advisors at select schools.
  • Build campus calendar of events at selected schools that promotes brand awareness and highlights Dollar Tree/Family Dollar as an employer of choice.
  • Partner with internal lines of business (Merchandising, Finance, IT, etc) to forecast college recruitment needs by program and develop results-oriented solutions to all hiring needs, based on established headcount and department budgets.
  • Partner with Marketing and Digital teams to develop messaging strategies for attracting students at select schools.
  • Manage Interview process from end to end allowing for efficient selection and outstanding candidate experience.
  • Create and manage the candidate experience process which builds strong “brand ambassadors” on campus.
  • Ensure candidate diversity in prospective hires.
  • Track analytical data by school regarding all facets of the recruiting process to include sourcing effectiveness, offer rate, accept rate and other analysis as needed.
  • Be the program manager during the Summer Months for internship programs

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business or Human Resources preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in college campus recruiting necessary.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including speaking in front of large groups.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office,
  • Ability to work flexible hours with some travel to college campuses needed.
  • Experience in a variety of interviewing techniques.
  • Strong initiative and self-learning.
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional and fluid environment while addressing changing needs.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, and recruiting industry best practices.
  • Must be fully vaccinated from COVID-19, as defined by the CDC, by the date of hire. Proof of vaccination required. Request for medical or religious accommodation must be made prior to the start date
