Summary/Objective
The human resource manager is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination, and evaluation of the human resource function.

This position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of the employees within that department.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.
Travel
Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected (less than once a year).

Essential Functions

· Administers and enforces human resources and corporate processes and procedures for unit personnel.
· Acts as organization representative in Union meetings and participates in Union grievance meetings
· Maintains ADP entry for new hires, terminations, employee changes, LOA’s and benefits, and performs routine audits of ADP information
· Plans, organizes and controls all activities of the HR department.
· Assists in coordination of annual performance evaluation program
· Conducts recruitment and onboarding for all nonexempt and temporary workers including posting of job openings, working with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; reference checks; job offers; and conducting new-employee orientations
· Manage progressive counseling and employee performance processes
· Establishes and maintains HR department records and reports.
· Participates in local unit staff meetings and HR team meetings
· Maintains unit organizational charts
· Collaborates with local and corporate payroll to ensure timely and efficient payroll processing
· Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiencies of department and services performed.
· Collaborates with HR Business Partners including Compliance and Legal teams.
· Collaborates with Safety Manager on training and workers compensation program
