Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to assist the VP of Human Resources and staff in program administration and providing technical assistance in the areas of agency policy, employee relations, performance management, training, compensation administration and various other related programs.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Assists the VP of Human resources and other department staff members with the planning, review and development of agency policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and to ensure staff awareness of agency standards and protocols.
Administers the agency’s classification and compensation plan, job description maintenance, performance management system, drug and alcohol testing program, payroll support, and Human Resources Information System and assists and advises staff of training and development programs for agency personnel.
Coaches and counsels staff and management on employee relations issues and assists with disciplinary investigations and actions; prepares a variety of human resources reports, documents and metrics.
Participates in and attends various meetings, conferences, workshops, and seminars for professional development and to learn best practices that will assist in performing in the position.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:Â
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business/Public Administration or a related field required; supplemented by five years of work experience in Human Resources operations or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
