EpitecPOSITION:HR GeneralistJOB TYPE:W2 ContractLOCATION:Lockport, NYJOB SUMMARY FOR HR GENERALIST:• Responsible for onsite HR/LR generalist services at our various manufacturing facilities, to include Labor Relations, Hourly Employment, and Salaried HR administration.• As a member of the Human Resources Group, you will support assigned business functions in day-to-day HR and LR activities and provide direction and leadership that aligns and supports our objectives, mission, and culture. You will work strategically with assigned functional business leaders to improve working relationships, build engagement, increase output, attract, and retain talent, including collaborating with COEs relative to strategic workforce planning.RESPONSIBILITIES FOR HR GENERALIST:• Provide management representation in administering the provisions of collective bargaining agreements between union and management• Support management in the interpretation of collective bargaining agreements and act as management representative in dealing with the union• Support and advise management and other plant personnel on matters related to Union-Management relationships• Maintain records pertinent to employment• Support local negotiations• Attend and support meetings as required relative to the collective bargaining agreements (grievances, Shop Committee, etc.)• Support and lead investigations as needed• Support plant and unit management on matters concerning personnel• Provide guidance and resolution to conflicts• Administer Company policies when appropriate, engaging subject matter expert groups when needed (Legal, HR Policy, Corporate Labor Relations, Security, etc.)• Responsible for ensuring the proper staffing for the plant is maintained and assigned• Administer hiring, transfers, and separations for employees• Ensure transactions are accurately processed and in a timely manner using HR systems• Manage temporary employee hiring pool for the plant• Advise Management, Union, and hourly employees on seniority issues• Advise and administer payment provisions and policies• Frequent involvement with other work groups (i.e. Benefits, Payroll, IT, National Employee Placement Center, etc.) regarding employee issues, downstream data problems, or other pertinent matters)• Support and lead unemployment filings on behalf of the Company• Manage and execute data entry (grievances, employment records, timekeeping, etc.) into various HR systems (Workday, Kronos, Ethicspoint, etc.)• Collaborate with leaders to facilitate talent identification and leadership development in support of workforce succession planning• Attend and support Human Resource Management meetings as needed• Support annual compensation planning and administration activities• Understand talent management and performance management guidance• Serve as contact for student interns• Complete special projects/assignments as requestedREQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR HR GENERALIST:• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience will be considered.
