Sinclair Broadcast Group is seeking an entry-level HR Associate to provide first-line assistance to internal and external customers. In this role, the HR Associate will answer basic questions and provide standard policy/procedural information. Ultimately, the ideal candidate will be a resource with the day-to-day operations of a HR team.
While no day will be exactly the same, you will execute daily responsibilities in the various HR functional areas (including but not limited to):
Provide general information and answers to routine / tier one level questions regarding human resources policies and procedures (i.e.
questions that can be answered using Employee Handbook or HR Manual)
Refer questions or concerns requiring further policy interpretation to senior team members or to specialist staff, as appropriate
Provide top notch customer service and support when responding to HR inquiries
Update, log and track HR information including, but not limited to leave administration, employee relations and compliance using various tools such as spreadsheets and databases
Provide assistance with updating and tracking step-by-step guides to various HR processes
Provide administrative support in various areas of human resources functions including, but not limited to Recruiting and Hiring, Benefits, Leave Administration, Workers’ Compensation, Employee Relations, Unemployment and Training
Assist with maintenance of HR data
Complete employment verifications
Convert and maintain personnel records to current electronic format
Provide support on auditing, reviewing and processing HR information
Prepare and assist with HR reports, presentations and communications
Facilitate and be a go-to resource for general office procedures, including but not limited to coordinating meetings and sending out communications
Assist HR team members on projects
Must maintain confidentiality and perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures
Qualifications and Skills:
General knowledge of basic HR functions and terminology
Must be detail-oriented and exceptionally well organized
Great people/interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude are essential
Must take initiative and be a problem-solver
The ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
Ability to communicate with a wide range of individuals in a diverse company
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Intermediate skill with the use of personal computers and related software applications, including Microsoft Office
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
Comfortable working in an office. In current circumstances, this role has a hybrid on-site schedule that is subject to change
Preferred Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related program of study
2 years of HR experience in a large, professional office setting with knowledge of HR practices and terminology preferred
Familiarity with Oracle Human Capital Management system or equivalent a plus
Proven success with working with various levels of management and employees
Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality
Conducts work with a high level of accuracy; detail-oriented
