Director, HRIS and Payroll

This is a Full-time position in Alpharetta, GA posted November 9, 2021.

Overview

The Director, HRIS and Payroll, provides the long and short-term strategic direction, system design, maintenance, reporting, analytics and project management for the Human Resource Information System and Payroll System.

This role manages the entire suite of modules and will be responsible for integration and requirements to maximize value to the Company (Employee Relations, Benefits, Compensation, Talent Performance, and Reporting and Analytics).

The role will work with Leadership and Stakeholders across the organization to identify gaps and needs of focus.

Responsibilities

  • Build, recommend and maintain a strategic roadmap for the Human Resources Information Systems and Payroll initiatives and steady state activities (technology and non-technology), to ensure a planned approach, including but not limited to:
  • Ensure compliance with all North American (US and Canada) payroll processing requirements
  • Overseeing strategic plans to ensure buy-in from across HR and other groups (as required)
  • Ensure the effective execution of all HC projects in alignment with enterprise PMO and HR strategy.
  • Ensuring business cases are built to warrant investment
  • Ensuring proper management of scope, timeline and resources
  • Act as the internal expert for project management by maintaining strong industry and external HR knowledge of applicable trends and impacts
  • Oversee key HR projects to ensure that needs are fully understood and executed against within the project scope
  • Oversee department functions of the Human Resource Information Management systems
  • Oversee the design, development and implementation of future HRIS modules to meet the requirements of the business
  • Provide technical consultation, expertise and oversight for the existing HR and payroll system and recommend and assist in implementing enhancements and procedures
  • Escalate complex technical issues to appropriate vendor(s) and or IT and drive to resolution
  • Lead systems implementation of various technological advancements in the HR Systems area as needed.

    Partner with IT resources to design and support integrated solutions for the future

  • Own the integrity of all HR and payroll systems and critical interfaces in and out of the database including but not limited to timekeeping, finance, accounting and payroll
  • Monitor inquiries & problem resolution while ensuring report of significant trends and progress as a regular occurrence
  • Provide necessary work direction to HR Systems and team members and manage projects effectively through planning, organization and project management
  • Act as escalation point for issues and provide leadership and guidance to team

Qualifications

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business, Information Technology preferred

Related Work Experience:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Human Resource Information Systems, and supervisory experience.
  • Experience with timeclock technologies preferable Kronos
  • Experience with payroll systems preferable ADP Workforce Now
  • Demonstrated strong project management skills.

Specific Skills & Knowledge:

  • Required: Significant Excel spreadsheet software experience; Must have good communication skills to work with employees at all levels of the organization including internal and external customers; Must possess excellent written communication skills; Must have great attention to detail and be highly organized; Benefits expertise within a union environment; Experience initiating, negotiating contracts and agreements with external vendors.

    Proven track record with setting strategy, developing business cases and system integration and implementation.
