The Human Resources Generalist performs human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, recruiting, leave management, and HRIS system implementation & maintenance.Essential FunctionsProvide HR support and consultation to the business, answering employee and manager questions about HR programs, policies, and other HR-related itemsConduct confidential investigations and recommends disciplinary action and solutions by collecting, analyzing and summarizing investigation information.Develops and implements employee engagement initiativesCreates and maintains the planning and execution of employee recognition eventsOversees the employee new hire welcoming process, works to ensure new employees feel welcome.Creates, develops and conducts training to promote a positive employee cultureAssists in the recruiting process from posting open positions, conducting candidate phone screens, scheduling interviews, drafting & sending offer letters, candidate communication, onboarding and orientation.Assist in COVID related investigations and workplace safety initiatives.Ensures consistency in compliance with state and federal labor and employment laws as well as company policies and guidelines.Experience and EducationBachelor’s Degree with emphasis in Human Resources or related field preferred5+ years’ of work experience in a HR capacityPHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification highly desiredExperience using Ascentis HR highly desiredMulti state experience preferredStrong knowledge of federal, state and local lawsExcellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)Proficiency with MS office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Must be able to build and maintain trust at all levels, protect and preserve confidential informationAbility to prioritize under pressure and meet deadlines while managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
