PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Ace Hardware Distribution Centers are where team players collaborate to support amazing retailers be the most helpful hardware stores on the planet.

We have an opportunity for a Human Resources Manager at our distribution center in Fredericksburg, PA.As a strategic partner, the HR Manager is responsible for driving the HR department goals and objectives in alignment with the overall goals and objectives of the Distribution.

The HR Manager will be an employee champion and change agent to provide an environment which supports a high performing employee culture to meet current and future business needs.

The HR Manager is expected to proactively communicate with the Retail Support Manager, the Retail Support Center staff and corporate HR to develop integrated solutions.

The HR Manager serves as a consultant to management on Human Resource related issues.

The HR Manager formulates partnerships across the HR function, in both the Retail Support Center and Ace Corporate to deliver value added service to management and employees that reflect the business objectives of the organization.Essential Functions:* Lead, support and encourage Ace Values: Winning, Excellence, Love, Integrity, Gratitude, Humility and Teamwork.* Consult with Retail Support Management to provide HR guidance when appropriate.

Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.* Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.

Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.

Consults with Regional HR and Corporate HR to ensure solutions comply with policies and laws.* Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.* Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions and goal setting).* Provides training and guidance to exempt team members regarding activities within the HR and payroll system.* Works closely with management and employees to improve working relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.* Identify training needs for business, individual coaching and succession planning needs.

Create and execute training programs for exempt and non-exempt employees.

Evaluate and monitor the success of training programs.

Follow up to ensure training objectives are met.* Provide assistance with staff members’ individual development plans and model for self-development by having an active development plan.* Oversight of the performance management program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and equity within the organization.* Oversight of salary administration program to ensure compliance and equity within the organization.* Administer and communicate benefit programs such as life, health and dental insurance, 401(k) plan, vacation/holiday/PST programs, leaves of absence and employee assistance program.

Responsible for the overall success of the programs.* Assist and/or conduct employee relations investigations and determine or recommend the best corrective action for each situation.* Responsible for the effective administration of the workers’ compensation/safety programs.

Coordinates with Loss Prevention in this area.* Provide oversight and assistance with event planning and charity fundraising, e.G., Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Red Cross.* Provide guidance and input on succession planning.

Oversight for the recruitment effort for all exempt and non-exempt personnel, new hire orientations, responsible for the overall success of these programs.* Oversees the maintenance and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.* Maintains data integrity within the HR and payroll system and creates and maintains appropriate reports used by RSC in achieving business objectives.* Responsible for all aspects of recruitment and retention to include new employee orientation.* Flexibility to deal with issues that arise outside of normal business hours.* Responsible for creating an environment of safety, good working relationships and productivity.* Manage HR staff within the Retail Support Center.* Other duties as assigned.Compensation and Benefits* Generous Vacation policy* 401(k) retirement savings plan with company contributions* Comprehensive health coverage & life benefits* Tuition reimbursement* Employee discounts on products* Business casual dress every day!Qualifications* Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.* PHR/SPHR certification desirable.* Minimum 3-5 years progressive HR experience in a leadership role.* Ability to multi-task and work well in a high-pressured environment.* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.* Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to create effective relationships throughout all levels of the organization.* Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel.* Successful and demonstrated HR generalist experience with proven track record in compensation practices, organizational development, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and respective state employment laws.* Proven presentation and training experience as well as group facilitation skills.We want to hear from you!When most people think of career opportunities with Ace Hardware, they often think of the helpful cashiers and sales associates at their local store.
