Summary: Responsible for directing and administering the implementation of all safety and security programs and initiatives.
Manage and direct the activities and operations of the security department and staff; establishes and maintains a professional security program that ensures the safety, security, and well-being of employees and visitors and the security and safety of company/customer assets.Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards: Assist the Director of Security in administering fire prevention programs and emergency preparedness.Direct and administer all Security operations and functions to include, but not limited to preserving the safety and security of the guests, team members and the facility, promoting safe work practices, OSHA compliance, safety incentive programs and classes, systems use and management, lost and found, budgeting and forecasting, department management, adherence to federal, state and local standards and meeting participation and facilitation.Direct and administer the patrol of the interior of and the perimeter of the hotel and the property to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditionsDirect and lead investigations of accidents, thefts, property loss and unlawful activitiesDirect response to emergency situations including, but not limited to, safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies and threats to life and/or propertyComply with applicable laws and safety regulations.Serve as primary liaison with federal, state and local law enforcementOversee the administration and accuracy of all required reports and documentationRespond to guest inquiries and requests in a timely, friendly and efficient mannerMonitor and develop team member performance to include, but not limited to, providing supervision, scheduling, conducting counseling, and evaluations and delivering recognition and rewardRecruit, interview and train team membersUtilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.Enforce and adhere to COVID-19 protocols in currently in place for all employees, hotel guests and visitors.Meet quality standards and customer expectations on a daily basis.Inspects and critiques the performance of the security department to establish and maintain a high level of professionalism and customer service.Able to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to diffuse anger, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.Identifies the educational needs of others, developing formal educational or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.Provides services that are above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention.Supervisory Responsibilities: The incumbent will be on the team of approximately 16 department associates, leading approximately 4 officers during each shift.
You must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule to include weekend and evening shifts.Requirements: Must be able to work in a fast paced and customer service-orientated environment; to perform duties underpressure and meet deadlines in a timely manner; to work as part of a team as well as to complete assignments independently; to take instructions from Managers; to exercise problem solving skills; and to interact with co-workers, supervisors, guests and the public in a professional and pleasant manner.Education & Physical RequirementsMinimum 3 years’ experience or 2 years Hotel Security experience.1-year Security Supervisor Experience on a proprietary Security Team in a 4 Diamond hotel setting.Experience in the hospitality industry preferredC.P.R.
Certification & First Aid training preferredProficient in Microsoft Word/Excel and ADP for payroll/time managementAbility to communicate clearly (verbal and written) in English with guests, co-workers, and management.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.Ability to apply common sense when carrying out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.Ability to learn and use computer systems and softwareCalifornia State Guard Registration and valid Government IDStrong Investigative Skills.Must be able to work days, nights, weekends and holidaysMust be able to walk and stand for long periods of timeMust be able to work in the interior and exterior of the hotelMust be able to sit, walk, bend and stoop throughout the dayFrequently use hands for keyboard and arms to reach.Able to exert 10-25lbs frequently and 30-50lbs of force occasionallyLicenses/Certifications Required: Valid driver’s license required.Guard Card required.Interested & Qualified individuals may submit their resume for consideration.
