Senior Social Media Manager
– Los Angeles: We are currently looking to add a Senior Social Media Manager
– with a minimum of 6 years agency experience to lead our Social Campaign Managers.
This role develops, implements, and manages our social media strategy.
This position currently reports directly to the Vice President Digital who oversees both the Media and Technology & Analytics departments.
The Senior Social Media Manager works directly and autonomously with the Social media campaign leads, account management, and clients to provide strategic direction of client social media campaigns.
This role will be responsible for leading the team toward the development of strategic media plan recommendations.
The ideal candidate will be able to present to account teams and clients, analyze and simplify complex data for insights, contribute to the career growth of junior team members and identify and negotiate with media vendors partners such as FB, Yelp, Tik Tok, Snapchat, etc.
Additionally, there needs to be a constant curiosity to stay ahead of a changing and complex marketplace, and an understanding of how these changes will impact client objectives.
Responsibilities: Develop, implement and manage our social media strategy, all clients Define the most important social media KPI’s for each client and each campaign Manage and oversee social media content Measure the success of every social media campaign Stay up to date with the latest social media best practices and technologies Use social media marketing tools Work with copywriters and designers to ensure content is informative and appealing Collaborate with marketing, analytics, sales, and product development teams as necessary to fulfill job duties Monitor SEO and user engagement, suggest and execute content optimization Monitor (daily) campaign results and make optimizations necessary to ensure the budget is spending efficiently and effectively and KPI’s are being met or exceeded Hire and train others in the team Provide constructive feedback to the account team on a regular basis.
Communicate issues, problems immediately to the account team Present to senior management Work directly with clients and account teams to understand overall objectives and how they relate to a client’s media/web/social/mobile presence Analyze the results and make optimization recommendations while the media is live and use empirical data to improve results for the next buying cycle Write customized analysis, social metrics, mobile metrics, and web analytics that highlight campaign strengths and weaknesses and provide actionable insights on campaign performance Tell the full media story of the social media campaign lifecycle from inception through optimization to results, and do so in a client-facing, consultative manner Evaluate new advertising opportunities within the social media space Manage multiple projects and clients at any given time Present complex concepts and metrics in a user-friendly way Collaborate with senior leadership to provide input into partner selection and rationale Works with senior leadership and Account team to maintain media budgets and changes to media plan post negotiations Work in conjunction with the Account team on billing and invoicing to maintain consistent process Works with the creative agency (internal or external) to understand creative assets available and any custom placements Understands intricacies of various tracking services Integrate plans with traditional strategy Work closely with the Business Development team to participate in new client pitches Communicate and write POVs on a variety of media-related opportunities Keep current on media trends through consumption of trade news as well as attendance at industry conferences Ability to manage performance-focused media throughout every stage of the funnel Requirements for Consideration 6-8 years experience as a Social Media Specialist or similar role Social Media Strategist using social media for brand awareness, impressions, conversions Excellent knowledge of FB and Instagram.
Also knowledge of Twitter, LI, Pinterest, Google, Snapchat, TikTok, etc.
Understanding of SEO and web traffic metrics Experience with doing audience and buyer persona research Good understanding of social media KPIs Excellent multitasking skills Great leadership skills Critical thinker and problem-solving skills Team player with Good time management skills Great interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills BSc degree in marketing or relevant field Experience with social media planning and buying platforms Experience integrating comScore and 3rd party ad serving technology (i.e., DoubleClick: DCM) Google Analytics certification or equivalent experience Knowledge of social metrics (i.e., Facebook & YouTube insights) Critical thinker who can present complex concepts, media recommendations, and data results in a clear and effective manner The ability to manage multiple priorities in an ever-changing environment and meet tight deadlines Be a self-starter who can work independently as well as part of a team Strong written and verbal communication, organization, negotiation, and troubleshooting skills Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel (including Macros, V-Look Ups and Pivot Tables, PowerPoint) Deep understanding of HTML and site tagging architecture My client offers an agency life in a family-oriented environment.
