Laurel Heights Hospital is located in Atlanta, GA & is 112 bed facility.

They are also a free standing Psych Hospital with all paper charting.

RN’s are responsible for admissions, D/C’s, treatment plans & medications.

No On-site Security.

Hospital staffs to acuity, not patient ratios.

Hours at this site are: Day Shift (8:30am-9pm) & Night Shift (8:30pm-9am).

QUALIFICATION AT ENTRY: Possesses current RN’s license in state of practice; demonstrates sound leadership skills & utilizes these skills in organizing & delegating the activities & schedules for medical &/or non-medical tasks of the child & adolescent.

RN prescribes, coordinates & delegates nursing care utilizing the nursing process that is integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team s plan of care.

RN has a record of consistent high quality clinical & interpersonal skills, possesses critical thinking skills & sound independent decision-making in the execution of nursing strategies, provision of care as ordered, & able to effective evaluate the patient s progress in meeting the goals of the treatment plan.

The RN serves as an exemplary role model for others.

The RN performs comprehensive nursing assessments, establishes nursing diagnosis & goals, plans, implements, & evaluates the nursing care provided.

Demonstrates specialized knowledge of treatment procedures & interventions common to acute psychotic, as well as, non-violent crises intervention practice.

RN is able to maintain a record of consistent high quality clinical & interpersonal skills to serve as a role model for others.

RN has skills in establishing & maintaining collaborative working relationships with a variety of clinical & support team members.

Possesses knowledge of abnormal psychology as typically found in the child & adolescent psychiatric populations in the application of the nursing care.

Displays empathy for patients & their families & provides advocacy for the patient.

RN is knowledgeable of medical terminology, especially those terms associated with child & adolescent behavioral issues.

RN has a thorough underrstandingof psychopharmacology & the use of psychotropic medications to treat the symptoms & management of the patient s psychiatric & medical needs.

Provides individualized Plan of Care based on the needs of the patient.

RN possesses problem-solving skills; organizational & time management; crisis intervention skills; written & oral communication skills; & skills in maintaining highly confidential information.

RN is skilled in facilitating &/or co-facilitating process orientation & didactic groups.

RN maintains a current CPR certification & documented training in the Mindset curriculum & is flexible regarding hours & work schedule.

In the absence of these qualifications upon hire, must demonstrate ability to learn these concepts & develop these skills within reasonable time frame via the organization s orientation & training program.
