Care Manor Nursing and Rehab is now hiring a Housekeeping/Laundry Supervisor
The primary purpose of your job position is to perform and oversee the day-to-day activities of the Housekeeping and Laundry Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Administrator to assure that our facility is maintained in a clean, safe, and comfortable manner.
Plan, develop, organize, implement, evaluate, and direct the Housekeeping and/or Laundry Department, its programs and activities.
Maintain written housekeeping/laundry policies and procedures.
Interpret the department’s policies and procedures to employees, patients, visitors, government agencies, etc.
Assume the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability of directing the Housekeeping and or Laundry Department.
Coordinate housekeeping/laundry services and activities with other related departments (i.e., Dietary, Nursing, etc.).
Make written oral reports/recommendations to the Administrator as necessary/required, concerning the operation of the Housekeeping and/or Laundry Department.
Ensure that work/cleaning schedules are followed as closely as practical.
Report all accidents/incidents to Human Resources.
Coordinate daily housekeeping services with nursing services when performing routine cleaning assignments in patient living and/or recreational areas.
Assist the Infection Control Coordinator and/or Committee in identifying, evaluating, and classifying routine and job related functions to ensure that housekeeping/laundry tasks involving potential exposure to blood/body fluids are properly identified and recorded.
Inspect storage rooms, utility/janitorial closets, linen closets, etc., for upkeep and supply control.
Participate in facility surveys (inspections) made by authorized government agencies.
Keep abreast of economic conditions/situations and recommend to the Administrator adjustments in housekeeping services that assure the continued ability to provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment and provide adequate linens to patients.
Perform administrative duties such as completing necessary forms, reports, evaluations, studies, etc.
Delegate a responsible staff member to act in your behalf when you are absent from the facility.
Attend departmental and staff meetings as directed or called.
Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
File complaints/grievances with your Administrator.
