POSITION SUMMARY: Maintains facilities in a clean, sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition to provide a suitable environment for patient care and staff work.
Performs a variety of housekeeping duties that may include dusting, washing, and disinfecting furniture, fixtures, and equipment, sweeping, mopping, waxing, and buffing floors, gathering and disposing of refuse; arranging furniture and performing similar tasks.
May also perform minimal laundry duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DETAILED DUTIES:Cleans assigned areas completely.Extra/Weekly assignments include but not limited to wiping off pipes, vacuum, clean wheelchairs.Daily assignments include but not limited to cleaning patient rooms (bed and tray), bathrooms, floor care.Follows universal precautions, isolation and HIV.
Utilizes PPE (gloves, gowns, and booties) when needed.
Follows hand washing guidelines.
Adequately and appropriately cleans spilt blood.Stocks linens and supplies for the next day.Reads and follows recommendations from MDS.Reports repairs to the Facilities Department/Maintenance Log.Exception to the dress code: this position is allowed to wear tennis shoes POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:Cleaning experience desirable, but not required.
On-the-job training provided.Must have ability to plan and organize scheduled work.
