The OpportunityDelaware North Travel and Hospitality is hiring for a Chief Operating Officer based out of our global headquarters in Buffalo, New York.
The COO of Travel and Hospitality (THS) will provide direct leadership to develop global business strategy, sustain growth, and profitable global operations while effectively positioning the brand with relevant constituencies and sustaining investment, engagement, and development of organizational talent.ResponsibilitiesShape and champion the vision and strategy for the THS business with a particular focus on major revenue and profit streams, client and consumer requirements as well as new business opportunities, product and concept innovations, and competitive advantage.Set, recommend, and implement business strategy, short and long-term objectives and goals; develops presents and accomplishes approved annual plan and provides leadership for the senior team ensuring plans cascade throughout the organization for both domestic and international operationsCreate and encourage a culture of continuous improvement focused on guest and client satisfaction and associate engagement.Serve as a key leader to ensure recruiting and retention strategies match THS short and long term business needs; enables training, coaching, development, and direction for associates to achieve the highest level of contribution to the organization.Build and maintain key relationships with clients, partners, political communities, and industry to ensure THS is positioned effectively in the marketplace.Anticipate trends and partner with the team to establish strategic and opportunistic plans to address all facets of operations as leader of the senior management team.Establish overarching plans and oversees all facets of the business model as leader of the senior management team for THS.Participate in enterprise-level issues strategy, opportunities, decisions, and support as a member of the Delaware North leadership team.Ensure the THS has systems and controls, policy and processes are in place to achieve enterprise and legislative regulatory requirements including financial, human resources, operating, and technology.Qualifications10 years experience in an executive or senior management role of a large global organization.Minimum of 15 years of management experience in hospitality or related service industry.Experience leading and managing teams in a large public or private company.50-75% business travel required, including nights and weekends.Understand varying business models and levers and can use them effectively in different marketing conditions and as needed to build key relationships.Adapts quickly and executes during changing business conditions, processes, work cultures, and environments.Who We AreAt Delaware North, you’ll love where you work, who you work with, and how your day unfolds.
