Job Description Job Number: 200680 Department: VM Birth Center Alliance w/CHI IP Obstetrics Hours: 19:00-0730 Virginia Masonis seeking experienced Postpartum and Labor & Delivery RNs for our new state-of-the-artBirth Center, a joint venture between Virginia Mason and CHI Franciscan,opening in the summer of 2020 on the Virginia Mason Seattle campus.
The 20,000square-foot birth center will combine CHI Franciscan’s regional leadership inpersonalized obstetric care with Virginia Mason’s focus on quality andinnovation.
The Virginia Mason Birth Center will be located at the Floyd &Delores Jones Pavilion at Virginia Mason.
Located on Level 16, the new facilitywill offer panoramic views of the city, the mountains and Puget Sound.
The newBirth Center will include: 6 post partum beds; 3 labor and delivery rooms; 2 bay OB triage area with 1-2 ORs, and 5 Level II Nursery Beds; plus an option for patients to access a labor tub, and have a water birth.
Family provided doulas will be welcome and unit willaccommodate presence of siblings.
In thisposition you will be responsible for serving as the primary Registered Nursedelivering care to women who are admitted to the Family Birth Center.
This patient population may include low-riskand high-risk pregnancies.
Responsibilitiesof the position include but are not limited to: Conducts Maternal-Fetal Assessment.
Provides nursing support to the laboring patients,utilizing pharmacological and non-pharmacological pain management.
Provides stabilization and transition of the normalnewborn at delivery.
Circulates and scrubs for Cesarean Sections.
Cares for the post-surgical patient.
Assists the anesthesiologist with insertion of anepidural and provides care to the patient with regional anesthesia.
Provides care to the High-Risk maternity patient.
Qualifications: Acurrent and valid Washington State Registered Nurse License.
Forthe team opening this unit, we also require at least 1 years’ experienceworking in a Labor and Deliver environment.
Mustbe willing to float between Postpartum and Labor and Delivery.
NeonatalResuscitation Program (NRP) certification or completion within 3 months of dateof hire is required.
ElectronicFetal Monitoring (EFM) certification required within 3 month of hire.
CPRcertification required every two years or as specified by the work.
