The Clinical Manager is responsible for clinical services, customer satisfaction, service recovery, financial performance and meeting program targets in terms of growth and community engagement.
The Clinical Manager works collaboratively with Discipline Leaders and other departments within UVMHHH to promote team functioning and assure quality of patient care.Education:Associate’s degree in nursing, Bachelor’s degree preferredHospice & Palliative Care Certification preferredOther disciplines will be considered relevant to hospice care Experience:Four to six years of relevant clinical experience or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquiredTwo years or more management experience preferred License Requirements:Current VT RN license Performance Standards:Plan, supervise, coordinate, monitor, and evaluate the clinical services provided by the UVM McClure Miller Respite House.
Participate as a member of the departmental management team in developing and modifying nursing services and operating systems in accordance with departmental and organization’s goals and resources, as well as community needs and changing professional standards.Serve as primary clinical and administrative supervisor for a team of approximately 15 to 30 FTE equivalents for nursing.
Work with Team Leads for scheduling, education, and performance evaluations of LNAs, SW, Spiritual, Bereavement and Volunteer staff.Interview and hire new nursing employees, and participate with Team Leads in interviewing new staff for MMRH.In collaboration with the Director of Hospice and Palliative Care Services plan and coordinate appropriate formal and informal orientation and training programs for new staff.
Confer regularly with staff to plan, coordinate and evaluate activities/services, assign and review work, assist with difficult or unusual cases, instruct in unfamiliar techniques, resolve problems, and the like.Evaluate job performance.
Plan and conduct/coordinate a variety of ongoing staff development and team building programs to enhance technical competency and team effectiveness.Responsible for nursing scheduling as well as all clinical care delivered at McClure Miller Respite house.
