– this is in addition to the fantastic benefits and compensation package offered by Providence that begin on your first day of employment.In this position you will:Demonstrate understanding and proficiency of the use of the electroinc Tele-Safety Aide software.Maintain visual observation at all times.
Verbally redirect patient over digital 2-way audio device that is in patient room.
Immediately summon the nursing staff if the patient requires assistance.Demonstrate the knowledge and skill necessary to provide the appropriate care to this patient population based on the patients individualized treatment plan as delegated by the RN.Participate in hand-off of pertinent information/behavior about assigned patients when arriving on unit and upon completion of shift assignment.
Arrange meal break times with nurse and inform nurse prior to leaving monitoring station for any reason so that relief may be provided to ensure constant patient observation.Provide patient with explanations as necessary, but does not counsel or provide opinions.
Demonstrate behaviors in line with Service Excellence.Seek help or advice immediately when patient appears to pose a threat to themselves or others.
Participate in a collaborative identification and reporting of patient safety issues.
Assure patient environment safety.
Seek assistance with removal of any potential safety hazard from room and report findings to Charge Nurse.Demonstrate safe work practices and attitudes, follow safety rules, work to prevent unsafe conditions and behaviors, and participate in organizational and department safety programs.Observe and record patient activities and interventions in the EMR.
Facilitate accurate transfer of information between appropriate individuals and departments via telephone.Qualifications:Required qualifications for this position include:Completion of Medical Terminology course or Successful completion of hospital medical terminology test within 90 days of hire6 months experience providing direct patient care in a clinical settingPreferred qualification for this position include:Verification of completion of basic EKG cardiac rhythm recognition course within six (6) months of hire or verification of advanced cardiac rhythm recognition courseAbout Providence Alaska Medical Center:Providence Health & Services Alaska is among nation’s best employers for healthy lifestyles!
