What is a temporary nurse aide?
This position was created and was designed to meet the critical staff shortages occurring as a result of COVID-19.
As a temporary nurse aide, you will upon hire, complete an 8-hour training, in combination with on-site training that will prepare you to work as a Temporary Nurse Aide, a temporary position intended to address the current state of emergency.
What you would be doing:
In this role you will directly support the nursing team to provide care for residents by assisting them to start their day with grooming and dressing support, serving meals, light housekeeping of their rooms and items, and engaging residents in conversation and activities, as well as other duties in line with that of a Certified Nursing Assistant as your training and competency allows.
What your work schedule would be:
We offer around the clock service to our residents in three shifts, day shift is 6am-2pm, afternoons is 2pm-10pm, and midnights is 10pm-6am.
The successful candidate :
Preferably has a High School diploma or equivalent.
Has patience, compassion, and a desire to care for the frail elderly in a gentle and empathetic manner.
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary care setting with residents, families, and staff members.
