Responsibilities

Supervisor -Mental Health Tech

Palmetto Summerville Behavioral Health is a residential treatment facility, located in Summerville, South Carolina. We treat children and adolescents, ages 7 to 18, who require a highly structured and supervised therapeutic environment. Residents attend programming separately, and are assigned to a group based on functioning level and treatment needs.
Supervisor maintains the consistent use of the residential care process to provide quality resident care at Palmetto Summerville. Manages programming to create and maintain a safe environment and a positive normative culture throughout the facility. Organizes and plans activities and the functions under the direction of the Program Coordinator to ensure the policies and procedures specified for the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities and time margins. The Team Supervisor must ensure the efficient operation of the milieu programs by providing training, evaluations and supervision of staff and maintaining time and attendance records. Assist the Program Coordinator with the creation and evaluates daily milieu scheduling, activities, and Mental Health Technician groups.

Qualifications

Supervisor – Mental Health Tech Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Sciences preferred.
  • Previous Supervisory experience
  • Preferred two years of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting with patients aged 7+. Well-developed problem solving techniques. Strong display of communication competency. Core ability to provide Service Excellence Skill in verbal de-escalation techniques. Ability to multi-task in crisis. Prior experience with youth in a professional environment preferred.
  • Current BLS certification preferred.
  • Current Handle With Care certification preferred.
