This employee will supervise all Pharmacy Technician/Customer Service functions of order entry while abiding by the procedures set forth by management. A pharmacy technician supervisor works under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and is allowed to assist in pharmacy activities that do not require the professional judgment of a pharmacist.
Job Responsibilities:
A Pharmacy Technician Supervisor must be able to perform all functions of an Order Entry/CSR Technician in addition to their own duties and responsibilities
Assists the Pharmacy Technician/CS Manager in the supervision of all Order Entry Technicians
The training (including phone call monitoring) of all Order Entry/CSR Technicians, including new hires
Will act as the first responder to a non-clinical situation in the event an Order Entry/CSR Technician cannot assist a caller
as well as a policy/procedural question posed by Order Entry Technicians
Is responsible to monitor the flow of orders to and from the Customer Service Department, including the actual handing out of orders to Order Entry/CSR Technicians when deemed necessary
Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/ maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Calculate the number of doses required based on the daily frequency of an order, refills when partial monthly quantity ordered, etc.
Convert from the metric to apothecary system
Apply common sense understanding to carry out oral and written instructions
Fairly reprimand and verbally discipline employees in accordance to approved procedures
Follows safety and security guidelines and related laws and regulations
Provides correct pharmacy information to customers or refers them to the Pharmacist or Management when unable to do so
Handles customer orders, records, and prescriptions in a timely manner
Documents customer complaints and problems with products, services, or deliveries in a timely, appropriate manner
Uses Pharmacy equipment in a safe and correct way
Uses policies, procedures, and/or guides to make good choices
Uses data and facts in order to make day-to-day decisions and involves others as needed
Recognizes what might be a problem and informs those who can correct it
Shows care and concern when speaking with customers

Education and Experience:
A High School diploma or general education degree (GED) is required
Must be able to meet the regulations within the Board of Pharmacy of the state you reside in
