In fact, it conducts more than 1,000 transplants annually through six FACT accredited transplant centers and has performed more than 14,000 transplants since inception of its first program.

Our staff would love to talk to you about it.Your role:The Blood Cancer Unit (BCU) is a 17 bed acute care unit where you will deliver phenomenal care for adult hematologic-oncology, autologous and allogeneic blood and marrow transplantation patients, and patients receiving CAR T-cell therapy.

In this role, you will be asked to provide the following services:?Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration and management, including investigational protocols?Transfusion of blood, platelets and fresh frozen plasma?Management of patients with radiation implants, central venous access devices and spinal drains?Provide care for patients that have undergone bone marrow biopsy and aspiration?Thoracentesis and paracentesis?Epidural and intrathecal analgesia?Management of toxicities r/t chemotherapy/biotherapy/radiation therapy and neutropenia/ thrombocytopenia/ anemia?Antibiotic/Medication therapies?Autologous and Allogeneic Blood and Marrow Transplant?Bone marrow harvest recovery?Pain Management and telemetry monitoringQualifications What qualifications you will need: Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.

If you have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN preferred) and/or certification in your specialty area you will be considered more highly qualified and eligible for our RN III or IV positions Minimum of six (6) months of clinical experience as a licensed Registered Nurse Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date) Current American Heart Association BLS CertificationMethodist Hospital opened in 1963 as the first hospital in the now internationally acclaimed South Texas Medical Center.
