Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test (Sr. SDET) – Pet Health

Our Opportunity:
Chewy is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to join our Pet Health Tech team.
The ideal candidate will identify strategies for how to use software not only as it is intended to be used, but also attempt to break the software as it is not intended to be used.
You are passionate about quality and can create, maintain, and execute test plans in order to verify requirements.
You have experience with UI and Services testing, which will require a good depth and breadth of technical knowledge.
What You’ll Do:
- Work with Developers, Product Managers and Designers in an agile environment to identify proper and effective testing strategies, beginning in the planning phases of a feature
- Analyze technical and business requirements to develop high quality test cases with a focus on requirements coverage across all platforms
- Develop automated test cases and integrate test automation in the CICD pipeline
- Perform test execution and report high quality, repeatable defect reports using JIRA
- Monitor existing defects and bring them to closure
- Play a major role in championing the importance in quality improvement across all areas of the SDLC
- Analyze test results and understand the root cause of defects
What You’ll Need:
- 7+ years’ experience in Quality Engineering with experience in UI, API, Database, and backend testing
- Experience in an Agile Testing environment
- Experience in test automation tools such as Cypress, Selenium or other
- Experience in programming test automation using Java, Python or other
- SQL experience
- Strong documentation skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with Atlassian suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence, HipChat)
- Ability to learn quickly and multitask
- Bachelor’s Degree (MIS or CS preferred) or equivalent work experience
