JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • As senior leader of clinical operations for Emory at Grady (EG), plans, manages, coordinates, and monitors activities related to clinical operations/process improvement program for Emory at Grady.
  • Works with Executive Associate Dean and Executive Administrator for Emory at Grady to create and develop physician recruitment and productivity models by service to support workforce planning initiatives.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of strategic goals and objectives for EG.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with Grady ambulatory leadership to improve patient access and throughput.
  • Works with clinical and operational leaders on projects aimed at transforming clinical practices to develop operational efficiencies, improve quality and reduce costs, while supporting the academic missions of teaching and research.
  • Facilitates and engages clinicians throughout the organization to participate in practice transformation offerings and performance improvement collaboration.
  • Manages and influences relationships with senior management team, physicians, administrators, functional area managers and staff to achieve best in practice performance and business results.
  • Facilitates communication with clinical leaders; provides updates on activities and new policies; reviews problems and opportunities.
  • Oversees clinical/operational processes including credentialing, PPSM, and other clinical compliance activities.
  • Implements and supports common reporting platforms/performance dashboards to support a monthly report of operations at a practice level.
  • Monitors and identifies trends in performance across all services and ensures that effective performance improvement plans are developed.
  • Conducts quantitative analysis and monitors performance against internal and external benchmarks.
  • Assists as needed with determining staffing needs (clinical and administrative).
  • Participates in professional activities and organizations to maintain knowledge of current trends, practices, and developments.
  • Reports to the Executive Administrator/Associate Dean for Emory at Grady and works closely with the Medical Director Quality/Performance Improvement and EG financial, clinical and revenue cycle leadership.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, health administration or related field and eight years of related healthcare management experience, preferably in a physician group practice including multi-specialty and multi-site group management.

PREFERRED QUALIFIACTIONS:

  • A master’s degree or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in an academic environment with educational programs and research a plus.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home temporarily during the COVID-19 pandemic, with intent to return to an Emory University location in the future.
