Scientist , In vivo (Biotherapeutics)

This is a Full-time position in Centennial, CO posted September 12, 2021.

Description: Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking a talented and innovative Scientist II/III to join the Antibody Generation Group within the Biotherapeutics Department located at our US headquarters in Ridgefield, CT.

This position will conduct in vivo experiments in immunizations, animal handling and screenings to support our drug discovery efforts for biologics.

This individual will be expected to make major contributions to the generation of best-in-class and first-in-class therapeutics to address major unmet medical needs.

Contributes to R&D discovery research by performing scientific research.

Implements protocols as required.

Provides expertise within a technical specialty required for skill center productivity.

Duties & Responsibilities: Responsible for animal handling, immunizations, sample collection and tissue harvest, as well as protein-based and cell-based screenings.

Proficient in data collection, analysis, documentation, and presentation.

Demonstrates an appropriate level of understanding of immunology.

Willingness to expand scientific/technical knowledge and skill sets by regularly reading relevant scientific literature and implement learnings in the study designs or project strategies.

Understand and implement study protocol according to AAALAC and IACUC guidelines and ensure that the highest standard of animal welfare is maintained in all studies.

Scientist II Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with three plus (3) years’ experience in related scientific discipline or Master’s degree from an accredited institution in related scientific discipline or equivalent experience in related field.

Must have hands-on in vivo experience conducting rodent experiments including animal handling and dosing by various routes (IP, SC, or IV) and collection of blood and tissues.

Experience with primary cell isolation, aseptic cell culture techniques, ELISA and flow cytometry assays.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GraphPad Prism software.

Ability to work within a collaborative team environment and present results to project teams.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Willingness to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and diverse research environment.

Scientist III Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution with 7 years’ experience in a related scientific discipline or a Master’s Degree with 3 years of experience in related scientific discipline.

Must have hands-on in vivo experience conducting rodent experiments including animal handling and dosing by various routes (IP, SC, or IV) and collection of blood and tissues.

Experience with primary cell isolation, aseptic cell culture techniques, ELISA and flow cytometry assays.

Experience with hybridoma methods and technology is preferred.

Experience with antigen design, the use of adjuvants and immune response assays is preferred.

Experience with plate and cell-based assay development, optimization and troubleshooting.

Familiarity with fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS) is preferred.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GraphPad Prism software.

Ability to work within a collaborative team environment and present to project teams.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Willingness to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative, and diverse research environment.
