POSITION SUMMARY:
The Quality Assurance Nurse has responsibility in the implementation of the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement needs for the organization. They review medical records for assessment of the quality of clinical services to ensure adherence to all policies and procedures and applicable standards. They work closely with the Director of Patient Care Services and help to review and inspect that all notes are accurate, detailed, and precise and that they are returned in a timely manner.

Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or school of vocational/practical nursing
Credentials: Current license within the State as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse is preferred
Experience: 2+years of varied work experience as a licensed nurse with at least one (1) year of hospice or home health experience.
Core Competencies: Knowledge of QAPI functions/Medicare COPs, and State regulations. Good computer skills. Ability to be attentive to detail. Possesses excellent verbal and written skills.
FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Develops, implements, and completes audits for medical records, and administrative claims.
2. Accountable for the timeliness and quality of medical charts
3. Provides quality assurance through careful review of both technical and clinical content of the charts to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency
4. Responsible for analyzing audit data and initiates interventions for quality improvement studies and activities.
5. Maintains current information and requirements related to applicable laws, regulations and standards.
6. Work/interface with the care plan team in the review process
7. Coordinates the implementation of Medical Record’s policy to assess the quality and appropriateness of patient care.
8. Attends and participates in in-services, staff meetings and case conferences.
9. All other duties and requirements deemed necessary and appropriate.
