The new CHA Center of Excellencefor Child and Adolescent Inpatient Mental Health Care at Somervillewill provide a transformative continuum of patient- andfamily-centered care for diverse youth with mental health needs.The Center will also provide unique opportunities for training andresearch at CHA to identify when, where and how to positivelyimpact trajectories of the Commonwealth’s most vulnerable youth.Under the general direction of the Medical Director, and withinestablished hospital and departmental policies and procedures,performs a variety of duties designed to meet the health care needsof individuals, families, and the community in general. Essentialjob functions are focused on customer satisfaction, effective useof resources, teamwork, innovation and continuous qualityimprovement. The patients’ care isclient-focused and goal oriented with a focus on improving orrestoring the patient’s functional level. Specific duties shallinclude (but are not limited to: Perform admissions. Respond torestraints and seclusions within one hour. Perform clinicalassessments and evaluations. Plan, implement and revise treatmentin consultation with multidisciplinary teams and with communityagencies as appropriate. Completes patient chart documentation asrequired by all pertinent governing bodies in a timely manner.Demonstrates ability to manage emergency situations in a prompt,precise and professional manner. Demonstrates expertise innonviolent crisis prevention and management. All responsibilitieswill be consistent with the scope of practice acts governing healthcare in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Qualifications: MSNcredentialed as an advanced practice clinician in PsychiatryCurrent Massachusetts licensure authorizing practice in an expandedrole; eligible to prescribe. MA.
