– Georgetown UniversityGeorgetown University’s Center for Global Health Science and Security conducts original research to help decision makers worldwide build sustainable capacities to prevent, detect, respond to public health emergencies, and to provide policymakers, donors, and researchers with a high-quality evidence base to make decisions that promote health security.The Project Coordinator/Research Associate supports the implementation of two ongoing projects at the center: 1) the COVID Analysis and Mapping of Policies (COVID-AMP) project, and 2) The International Disease and Events Analysis (GHSIDEA) project.

Reporting to the Center Director, and working closely with project investigators to contribute to a diverse portfolio relating to global health and health security, they have duties that include but are not limited to:Project Management* Oversee day-to-day project implementation of COVID-AMP and GHSIDEA projects and qualitative research: planning/preparation, timelines of deliverables, data collection, data analysis, and communication of results* Draft regular and ad hoc reports on implementation progress; liaise with CGHSS operations manager and CGHSS grant manager on grant processes* Manage the coordination of project sub-grantee partners* Facilitate communications among members of the project team and project stakeholders* Train and coordinate the research activities for a team of student researchers* Manage project administrative details and other duties as assignedResearch* Extract and clarify data from various sources and databases.* Perform literature reviews of peer-reviewed and gray literature* Format, transform, review, and assess data sources to determine their relevance and utility for Center projects* Contribute to creation of presentations, manuscripts, reports, and funding proposals* Perform other duties as assigned that fall within reasonable scope of research teamQualifications* Bachelor’s degree in epidemiology, public health, health economics, health policy, public policy, data analytics, project management, or related discipline* 2 to 5 years of professional work experience in a research and/or research coordinator role* Demonstrated interest in global health and health security* Ability to prioritize, focus and achieve results in a fast paced and complex environment* Ability to initiate and complete tasks under tight deadlines and changing priorities, while maintaining attention to results and detail* Ability to professionally and effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders and work in order to advance the Center mission* Ability to work independently and in collaboration with a team* Excellent research and writing skills to include conducting literature reviews, data extraction and contributing to research publicationsPreferred qualifications* Master’s degree in epidemiology, public health, health economics, health policy, public policy, data analytics, project management, or related discipline* At least 1 year of project coordination/management experience for grant funded projects* Foreign language proficiency* Proficiency in data analysis, data visualization, and/or database managementCurrent Georgetown Employees:If you currently work at Georgetown University, please exit this website and login to GMS (gms.georgetown.edu) using your Net ID and password.
