Our community is a tight knit group of remarkable individuals interested in intellectual inquiry and making a difference in the world.RequirementsProgram Assistant for the Healthy Families Initiative, O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law – Georgetown University Law CenterGeorgetown Law’s O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law – established in 2007 through the generous philanthropy of Linda and Timothy O’Neill to respond to the need for innovative solutions to the most pressing global health concerns – brings together experts from both the public health and legal fields, the O’Neill Institute reflects the importance of public and private law in health policy analysis. Its Healthy Families Initiative works to improve health through academic research that focuses on the nexus of health and international human rights law. Our team collaborates closely with local partners to build capacity, provide technical assistance, and pursue strategic litigation on health and human rights issues, especially in Latin America.The Program Coordinator enables the smooth functioning of the O’Neill Institute for National and Global Health Law and its Initiatives, and assists both Institute and Initiative staff and leadership with project and administrative needs. They provide a range of administrative tasks and functional areas, including event coordination and management, travel booking and logistics for staff and external partners, financial tracking, invoice processing, budget reconciliation, general research, writing, and copy editing; and serve as a primary representative and administrative coordinator for the Initiative. Reporting to the Initiative Director, and working closely on financial and administrative coordination with the Director of Finance, the Program Coordinator has duties that include but are not limited to:Project Support* Manage information, contacts and calendars to facilitate Institutes’ project work; and use judgment to troubleshoot logistical issues under supervision of Executive Director* Coordinate travel, events and meetings with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders* Prepare and assemble documents, presentations, and other materials for various projects* Coordinate with Communications Team, as needed, on upcoming events and marketing* Coordinate with Finance Team, as needed, to ensure smooth financial processes and transactionsCommunication and Collaboration* Facilitate communication between Directors, project team, and external stakeholders* Work closely with Communications Associate to publicize relevant events, publications, and pertinent information* Assist with outreach, invitations, and event logistics for Initiative eventsOffice & Staff Support* Schedule monthly staff meetings* Reconcile ProCards and process expense reports for Executive Director and other senior staff as needed* Respond to general inquiries about the O’Neill InstituteQualifications* Bachelor’s degree* Experience as executive assistant or in other support positions* Talent for multitasking and managing information, contacts, calendars, booking travel, and meeting and event planning* Experienced in Excel* Detail orientation* Creative and natural problem solving skills* Demonstrated professionalism* Proficiency with MS Office Suite, working knowledge of both Microsoft Windows and Apple operating systems, and basic troubleshooting skills with photocopiersPreferred qualification* Bilingual – English and Spanish* Knowledge of Georgetown application systemsCurrent Georgetown Employees:If you currently work at Georgetown University, please exit this website and login to GMS (gms.georgetown.edu) using your Net ID and password.
