About this Position
Western Plains Medical Complex is a Joint Commission-accredited, 99-bed hospital that serves as a regional referral center for southwest Kansas.
We are seeking an additional BC/BE OB/GYN physician for our growing population.
This is a hospital-employed practice located on the hospital campus joining two OB/GYN’s.
Call will be 1:3 and the practice is a great mix of OB and GYN.
Western Plains has a Women’s Center which has four L&D rooms and six mother/baby rooms, as well as its own set of surgery suites for C-sections.
It is a Level II Nursery and averages about 780 deliveries per year.
We also have a hospital-owned free-standing Surgery Center for those procedures that do not require full hospital support.

The Hospital
Accredited by The Joint Commission, Western Plains Medical Complex is a 99-bed hospital that provides residents of Dodge City and the surrounding region with comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services.
It serves as a regional referral center for southwest Kansas and is the only hospital in that region to earn the distinction of Top Performer on Key Quality measures for attaining and sustaining excellence in accountability measure performance.
It is recognized as a Mission Lifeline STEMI receiving facility, as well as a Certified Stroke Emergent facility.
It also provides services through its freestanding Surgery Center and physician practices.
The Community
Residents of Dodge City enjoy excellent school systems, an active culture and arts scene, affordable and plentiful housing, an extremely low crime rate and an average of 260 days of sunshine each year.
The town’s rich history, which began with the opening of the Santa Fe Trail in 1821, is celebrated each year during Dodge City Days, a two-week extravaganza featuring arts and crafts, fairs, parades, street dances, BBQ contests and one of the largest rodeos in the nation.

Legends Park is a state-of-the-art baseball facility and one of Kansas’ premier four-field multi-use complexes.
The city also boasts a first-class soccer complex, golf courses, a country club, a community civic center, repertory theater company and many historical attractions, including the Boot Hill Museum.
Hunting and other outdoor activities can be enjoyed at a 450-acre lake and recreational area, and Colorado’s famous ski resorts are within easy driving distance.
