The pharmacy technician position plays an integral role at Koshland Pharm communicating these values to the patients and doctors they interact with over the course of their daily duties.nn nnThe pharmacy technician is responsible for handling a high volume of calls from both patients and doctors.

Daily responsibilities include answering phone calls from doctors and patients; explaining to new patients how ordering a compounded medication differs from ordering a regular prescription from a retail pharmacy; inputting prescription refills into our pharmacy software system; working with fellow staff members (pharmacists and customer service specialists) to ensure that all prescriptions that come into the pharmacy are processed by the end of the day; connecting patients and doctors with pharmacists when clinical questions arise; occasionally helping patients who pick up their prescription in-person (Koshland Pharm currently offers curbside pick-up).nn nn Company Background: nn nnKoshland Pharm is an independently-owned pharmacy located in downtown San Francisco that has served patients since 2009 by providing them with high-quality, customized medications.

Answering a high volume of calls within a busy pharmacy environment with exceptional customer service.

Processing prescription refill requests.

Calling new patients; creating their patient profile; answering any questions they may have about getting a compounded medication; connecting patients with pharmacists for medication consultation.

Transferring clinically-related questions from patients and doctors to pharmacists.

Proactively finding solutions when challenges arise that address patients’ needs and that take into account pharmacy operational demands.

Actively participating in on-going pharmacy operations and quality assurance meetings.

Communicating openly and respectfully with fellow staff members and supervisors to ensure smooth and efficient pharmacy operations.

Actively looking for ways to help co-workers achieve success with their jobs, thereby contributing to team goals.

Being a dependable member of the pharmacy processing team and the overall pharmacy team as reflected by reliable attendance, punctual arrival, and a commitment to team accountability.
