– Day/Eve Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist may engage in the Practice of Pharmacy, as outlined in Ancillary Utilization Plans (AUPs) and Specialized Functions, in any Virginia Mason location for which they have received training.
This Pharmacy Technician position provides technical support under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist which includes: servicing automated dispensing cabinets, pre-packing medications, delivering medications to nursing units, preparing non-sterile medications including hazardous drugs, triaging telephone calls and faxes, and managing the technical duties in the pharmacy to allow the pharmacist to pursue the clinical areas of pharmacy practice and ensure that optimal patient care is provided.

Qualifications: A Washington State Pharmacy Technician License and completion of an accredited Level A program is required for this position.
A working knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, and technologies such as automated dispensing cabinets is preferred but newly licensed technicians will be considered; strong communication and interpersonal skills; the ability to effectively solve problems; the ability to use a computer; the ability to attend to detail; and strong organizational skills are required.
Must also possess National Certification (CPhT) or become nationally certified within 90 days of hire.
