MGH Occupational Therapy Service is currently is seeking an experienced per-diem Pediatric Therapist. Immediate need is for summer coverage, but may extend throughout the year.
MGH OT department is seeking an experienced pediatric occupational therapist to provide coverage in outpatients including the Newborn Development Follow-up clinic (held Mondays and one Friday/month). Clinic is a multi-disciplinary team supporting infants and toddlers following their course in the NICU.
This position requires someone to be diagnostic oriented and be comfortable working with a range of ages from infancy-school age with a range of developmental diagnoses, medical complexities, and neurologic needs. The candidate must have solid evaluation skills using a variety of standard batteries and a strong foundation in assessment and treatment of sensory processing disorders. Summer help would be to cover a case load of existing patients as well as provide evaluations in some of our many clinics; these include Down’s syndrome clinic, Feeding clinic, Neuro- Developmental Clinic, as well as service individual referrals
Consultation with family and school recommendations are a major aspect of this position. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential. You are a member of the therapy team (PT, OT, SLP) and interface with physicians on a regular basis.
Prospective candidate who is knowledgeable in administration of the Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development standardized assessment is strongly preferred. Typical age range of caseload is from 3 months to ~ 24 months.
Experience in documenting using EPIC is preferred.
Services are provided at MGH main campus in Boston
Must be MA- licensed; pediatric clinical experience is required.
Hospital based or work with medically complex children would be an advantage
