Job Summary: The Clinic Nurse Practitioner delivers defined patient care services in a COVID testing site. ONLY NP WILL BE CONSIDERED – NO PAs FOR THIS ROLE. This is a COVID testing role in a Clinic location in a retail setting. Important information about the POCT NP Role: POCT NPs will be operating under their RN license for the entire duration of the assignment since their sole job function will be performing COVID-19 testing. In EPIC (electronic health record), POCT NPs’ credentials will identify them as an RN and not an NP. This is not an error and should not attempt to be changed. POCT NPs will be working with an additional Clinic Provider (NP/PA) who will provide oversight, finalize results, and cosign orders. POCT NPs are required to sign the POC Tester Limited-Service Attestation that reiterates the job description, specifies the testing role, and reiterates the expectation of working under the RN license. The attestation must be signed prior to starting the assignment. Additional details to remember: POC NPs will be required to test patients for COVID at a testing site. The most common testing model is a kiosk located outside Clinic location. Typically there are 5 patients scheduled per hour. This is NOT a work from home role nor is it a vaccination administration role.

Pay: $55 – $70 hourly (determined on experience)

Hours: Will be scheduled for 30-40+ hours per week during the clinic hours for 3 weekdays and every other weekend, Mon-Fri will work 10-hrs, Sat will work 8-hrs, and Sun will work 7-hrs.  (determined on business needs, need candidates with flexible schedule); open for 10-hour shifts per day from Mon-Fri and open 7-8 hours per weekends

Responsibilities include: (but are not limited to)

• Will conduct all activities related to screening patients for COVID19: patient registration in EPIC EMR, insurance verification, point of care test specimen collection/processing, notifying patient of results, educate patient on appropriate next steps based on test results. 
• Additional responsibilities include maintaining infection control and lab processing requirements. 
• Testing location will be based at Clinic locations both inside and outside the store. 
• Required PPE will be available as appropriate. Training and orientation will be provided prior to start.
• Role requires candidates to screen in patients in a fast-paced environment. 
• Although the role is assigned to one particular location, travel may be required to nearby locations based on screening needs. 
• Contract extension may be possible on a case-by-case basis depending on location and community testing needs. 

Job Requirements:

• Minimum of two years of medically-relevant experience or equivalent. 
• Completion of a: Masters Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program with current National Board Certification and State of Employment license to practice in the Advanced Practice Nurse role required.
• Completed accredited DOT certificate training program prior to start date. 
• Effective verbal, written, and electronic communication skills. 
• Outstanding organizational skills and ability to multi-task. Initiative, problem solving ability, adaptability and flexibility. 
• Ability to work without direct supervision and practice autonomously
