Providence is calling a Clinical Nurse Educator (Providence Learning Institute, Days, 1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week) to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.

We are offering RNs who are not currently working for Providence or one of our affiliates a $15,000 sign on bonus to join our amazing nursing team $7500 on your first paycheck and $7500 at 6 months.

Repayment would be required based on a prorated amount if you do not complete the minimum retention requirement.

In this position you will: Hospital Based Work: Develop and operationalize effective methods of educating patient care staff so they possess the knowledge, skills, and attitudes requisite for safe, competent and effective patient care practice.

Coordinate competency based orientation programs for new hires/transfers.

Coordinate the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational offerings/ programs using appropriate program formats and teaching methods to facilitate achievement of educational goals utilizing educational resources available through Providence Alaska Learning Institute and Providence St Joseph Health Clinical Academy.

Collaborate with other key stakeholders when developing, updating, and maintaining policies and procedures basing them on most current evidence.

Educator/Facilitator: Mentor and coach peers, preceptors and staff.

Serve as a preceptor.

Facilitate the adult learning process and actively involve the learner in all educational offerings.

Enlist qualified instructors from bedside staff to plan, develop, and present material.

Evaluate outcomes.

Restructure program or educational plan as needed for future endeavors.

Develop and maintain a level of competency appropriate to one s practice environment or area of expertise.

Academic Liaison: Collaborate with academia to advance curricula to meet the needs of healthcare organizations, the unit, and the profession.

Change Agent/Team Member: Collaborate with professional organizations.

Facilitate team building.

Researcher/Consultant: Participate in and incorporates research and/or evidence-based practice as an advisor, investigator, collaborator, translator, integrator, or evaluator.

Serve as a resource to individuals, groups, and organizations.

Leader/Communicator: Provide supportive educational resources and opportunities.

Use effective communication skills.

Demonstrate leadership on a professional level, maintaining appropriate competencies and involvement in activities at community, state and national levels.

Influence change processes.

Integrate ethical principles in all aspects of practice.

Collaborator/Advisor/Mentor: Support lifelong learning in collaboration with academic institutions, healthcare organizations, and professional nursing organizations.

Support lifelong learning by advising/mentoring nurses as they execute a professional development plan.

Participate in appropriate hospital and unit based councils.

Unit Based Work: Assess education needs of staff upon hire or transfer into the unit and on an annual basis.

In collaboration with staff members, develops individualized education plans for staff.

Monitor for complete, accurate and up-to-date education records for unit staff.

Keeps leadership team informed of staff progress.

Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the unit based educational program.

Required qualifications for this position include: Bachelors degree in Nursing Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Alaska Certification within area of practice must be obtained within 6 months of hire date Current Basic Life Support (BLS) card must be from American Heart Association (AHA) upon hire 3 years experience in a clinical setting within the area of practice Membership in professional nursing organization (in the area of specialty) About Providence Alaska Medical Center: Providence Health & Services Alaska is among nations best employers for healthy lifestyles The National Business Group on Health, a non-profit association of large U.S.
