LifeFlight Eagle
Our team saves lives.
You can help.
LifeFlight Eagle is a non-profit organization that provides life-saving helicopter transport to critically ill and injured patients in rural communities surrounding Kansas City.
We’re looking for dedicated individuals to join the night shift at our communication center, which serves as the 24/7/365 nerve center for our five helicopters and two critical-care ground ambulances.
When patients in rural communities are injured or become seriously ill, they often require emergency care that’s not available in their local community.
That’s where LifeFlight Eagle and our specially equipped medical helicopters come in—we provide ICU-level patient care at 150 miles per hour.
Our Communications Specialists receive requests for critical care transport from 911 agencies, EMS, fire departments, law enforcement or hospitals.
They locate and efficiently dispatch the closest helicopter and its medical crew.
Throughout the patient transport process, Communications Specialists coordinate radio, phone and online communication among the various 911 dispatch, EMS, fire departments and hospitals as well as LifeFlight Eagle’s internal team.
They ensure our helicopters and ambulances arrive at the right place quickly and safely, and that trauma teams and emergency departments are ready to receive and care for the critically ill and injured patients when they arrive at receiving hospitals.
In addition, Communication Specialists play a crucial role in keeping our helicopters and crews safe by constantly monitoring status and position, by relaying communication, coordinating necessary support resources, and serving as an always-available resource for our crews.
Candidates must have strong customer service skills, be detail-oriented, have strong verbal communication skills, be capable of coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously, and of working independently and as part of a team.
The ability to type and basic computer proficiency are required, as is a high school diploma or GED.
A background in 911 dispatch, EMS, healthcare, two-way radio communication or customer service is a plus, but not required.
LifeFlight Eagle’s Communications Specialists work 12-hour shifts (7 p.m.
to 7 a.m.) on a rotating schedule (including every-other weekend), meaning a full week’s hours are completed in only 3-4 days!
Competitive wages, health, dental and vision insurance, a 401K, and other benefits are available.
LifeFlight Eagle is a drug-free workplace.
All candidates must pass a background check and drug screening.
Candidates must be capable of sitting or standing at a workstation for long periods of time, and must provide reliable transportation (our communication center is located near KCI airport in Kansas City, MO).
LifeFlight Eagle is an equal opportunity employer.
Military veterans and persons with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
