Medical Technologist – Certified

This is a Full-time position in olathe, KS posted December 27, 2021.

Job Summary:We welcome you to join the Laboratory Team as a Certified Medical Technologist.

You will perform a variety of laboratory procedures in Hematology, Urinalysis, Chemistry, Blood Bank, Serology, Coagulation, Microbiology and Phlebotomy on specimens obtained from patients to provide information for diagnosing and combating disease.Minimum Requirements:4 Year / Bachelors Degree and educational requirements as required to become certified with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency (NCA), or the American Medical Technologists (AMT).

Minimum2 Year / Associate Degree OR educational requirements as needed to become certified with the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), National Credentialing Agency (NCA), the American Medical Technologists (AMT).

MinimumOther: OR must have completed an HEW approved school of Medical Technology or the successful completion of a United States Military Laboratory training program and a minimum of 10 years of hospital lab experience required with out certification.

MinimumOther: Minimum of 1 year of experience in the clinical laboratory field required without a Bachelors Degree.

MinimumOther: Hospital Lab PreferredLaboratory Instrumentation and Equipment (Minimum proficiency)(Minimum proficiency)None Medical Technologist-MT(ASCP), or Medical Laboratory Scientist-MLS(ASCP) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist CLS(NCA) or Medical Technologist-MT(AMT), or ASCP Specialist Certification (MB, SBB, SC, SH, or SM).

Minimum Upon HireNone Those without a Bachelors degree must be certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician-MLT(ASCP), or Clinical Laboratory Technician-CLT(NCA), or Medical Laboratory Technician-MLT(AMT), or Clinical laboratory Technologist-CLT(HEW), or United States Military Laboratory training program Certificate of Completion, or certification eligible.

If certification is not acquired within the first 90 days, the incumbent will automatically be changed to a Medical Technologist-certified(20220) or Medical Technologist(20216).

Minimum 90 DaysKey Responsibilities:Recognizes and demonstrates the Laboratory Service’s role in the continuum of patient care by contributing to high quality, timely, cost-effective diagnostic information.Successfully completes all required position competency assessments.

Maintains competency by routinely working in all areas, as trained.Uses time to departmental advantage to ensure efficient workflow.

Demonstrates multi-tasking abilities and floats to where the Laboratory workload demands, regardless of assigned area.
