Eligibility may vary.Position descriptionAttends the surgeon and surgical team peri-operatively to provide for optimum peri-operative experience.

Knowledge of anatomy, instrumentation, patient safety and sterile technique.Qualifications EDUCATION : Graduate of an accredited and/or hospital approved Surgical Technician program.

Certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE : Fulfilled through the educational process and documented on a skill check list which is kept current on each individual.Additional qualifications COMPETENCY: Otorhinolaryngology General/Gynecology Neurology Orthopedics Cardiovascular JOB KNOWLEDGE: Principles of aseptic technique; orientation of surgicalprocedures; preparation, operation and care of equipment and machines; understands patient andstaff safety recommendations.

ADDL CONSIDERATIONS: Capable of rapid accurate reactions; concern for quality patient care; communicates and works effictively with various levels of personnel; stands and walks major portion of work schedule; moderate to heavy lifting required; exposure to cuts, burns, infection, biohazardous chemicals and x-rayLicense or certification Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency.
