Eligibility may vary.Position descriptionPerforms all necessary tests related to the diagnosis of pulmonary diseases to both inpatients and outpatients of all ages in compliance with the accepted professional, departmental, and hospital standards, while maintaining the daily operations of the hospital-based Pulmonary Lab.Qualifications EDUCATION : Successful completion of an AMA approved Respiratory Therapy program; A.S.
degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.
EXPERIENCE : Previous Pulmonary Function testing experience preferred.Additional qualifications COMPETENCY: see above criteria for competencies JOB KNOWLEDGE: Work is moderately demanding, requiring standing, walking, lifting patients, and pushing equipment.
Should be familiar with JCAHO standards and requirements.
Basic understanding of computers.
Good verbal and written communication skills required to be used during contacts with physicians, staff, patients, and the public.
ADDL CONSIDERATIONS: Exposure to infectious patients, needle puncture hazards, and hazards related to compressed gases.License or certification All Respiratory Therapists will hold the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential prior to their first day of employment.
Respiratory Therapists are required to maintain Basic Life Support or the equivalent as determined by the site of hire.Exemption status Non-exemptCompensation Detail Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
