The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for providing compassionate, holistic, behavioral health care to a culturally diverse population in need and in crisis.

The Children’s Center of Hamden’s focus is to help our clients achieve their highest level of function through treatment, education and care.

Qualified individuals need to work independently within the LPN’s scope of practice per CT guidelines.

The Licensed Practical Nurse is responsible for reporting all concerns, assessments, subjective and objective data to the RN on shift.

The Licensed Practical Nurse reports to the Nursing Supervisor, Nursing Director and Medical Director.

Schedule: Day/evening rotating,7:00am
– 3:00pm or 3:00pm
– 11:00pm, with every other weekend. 

Qualifications

Skills:
Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.

Excellent knowledge of medical terminology.

Experience in a congregate care setting.

Understanding of the dynamics of our special needs population and ability to work effectively with them.

Experience in the implementation of trauma-informed care.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry into EMR.

Education:
Proof of current Connecticut licensure as an LPN.

Previous Experience:
Experience with pediatric population highly encouraged.
