Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Responsibilities Pee Dee Center is a residential facility of S.C.

Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, located in Florence, SC.

The center serves adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This position provides and maintains good health care for each consumer by following and executing the health care plan devised by the program team and physician.

The care provided must meet standards required by SCDDSN, DHEC and other agencies as appropriate.

Minimum and Additional Requirements Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and be licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing.

Must have knowledge of the use of medical equipment required to perform duties.

Abilities include walking, climbing, kneeling, reaching, standing, driving (including nights).

Ability to work with dually diagnosed consumers and to assist in interventions to advert potential dangerous situations.

Is expected to provide CPR and abdominal thrusts when required.

Protective clothing is provided to prevent exposure to infection.

General supervision by the Nurse Administrator Manager, Director of Nursing and Physician.

Additional Comments This position qualifies for a $3,000 bonus.

This bonus will be issued at the SC department of Disabilities and Special Needs for Licensed Practical Nurse II (EA15) and Registered Nurse II (EA30) new hires as critical needs in accordance with Section 117.65 of the 2018-2019 Appropriations Act.

The bonus will be distributed after one, six, and twelve months of successful continuous full time employment.

This position is considered “ESSENTIAL” and the incumbent is expected to be available during licensing/certification, critical weather, drills, etc.
