_ ** Candidates must be willing to receive the COVID-19 Vaccine if a position is offered_Hospice of the Piedmont is seeking a PT (30+ hours) Expressive Arts Therapist to provide art therapy-based grief interventions for bereaved children, teens, families, and patients; to assist in psychosocial assessments of patient/family needs and provide support in helping them reach a satisfactory level of emotional and psychological understanding and dealing with the loss of their loved one.
This position will be based primarily in our Northern service areas of Culpeper, Rappahannock, and Fauquier.Duties include but are not limited to, assist in evaluating the emotional needs of the client, deliver art therapy services in accordance with the plan of care at home, schools or our office in Culpeper; prepare progress notes and maintain records for all contact with clients; participate in quality assurance reviews as requested; plan and implement groups and workshops for bereaved children/teens and their families; plan and implement bereavement camps for bereaved children/teens and their families; and provide grief education and support for the community as needed or requested.The ideal candidate will be bilingual (Spanish/English), have group facilitation experience, knowledge of childhood development as it relates to grief and loss, significant knowledge of skills relevant to grief and loss and be flexible and able to function in stressful situations.
Must have excellent communication and presentation skills; able to effectively communicate and work with family members, staff, and management.This position requires a master’s degree in Art Therapy and/or master’s degree in Counseling with expressive arts concentration.
Certified Art Therapist or certified eligible, or other relevant licensure and training with 2 years relevant experience including group facilitation.
Demonstrated ability to write comprehensive reports, correctly reflect treatment and document client progress as well as the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
