Good Samaritan Society – Stillwater is a 68-bed long-term care and transitional care facility located in the beautiful Minnesota St. Croix River Valley.
• Full Time – 80 hours a pay period
• Day Shift – 8:00am to 4:30pm – Monday through Friday

Job Summary
Provides an advanced level of technical support to ensure medical records are maintained accurately and in compliance with applicable rules/regulations/policies. Retrieves and uses the data of healthcare information systems correctly and legally. May have specific focus on the Health Information Management (HIM) workflow and/or the revenue cycle workflow as it relates to the Health Information Management (HIM) Department and will focus on problem solving documentation and workflow issues, timely chart completion and related work. Utilize critical thinking to complete work and be able to work independently and as part of a team. Utilizing problem solving and decision making skills while maintaining a high level of accountability for work. Monitors progress continuously and adjusts tactics for handling situations on a case by case basis. The ability to prioritize and complete detailed work accurately within established time frames is necessary. Works with health information in multiple, diverse environments. Knowledgeable of health information/medical record-related practices and concepts along with revenue cycle concepts and apply this knowledge in daily work along with critical thinking. Resolve documentation issues, assist with following-up on missing information by interacting with other departments and physicians, research concerns related to chart completion, make recommendations to resolve work flow issues or improvements. Accept responsibility to complete special projects as assigned within designated time frames.
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Health Information Technology required.
In lieu of education requirement, may consider the equivalent of five years of Health Information Management (HIM) or revenue cycle experience.
One year of health information or revenue cycle experience in health care required.
Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) preferred.
