Job Overview The Alternatives to Incarceration program is part of the Los Angeles County-wide pilot initiative to re-imagine incarceration, the program aims to divert individuals detained for misdemeanors and non-serious/non-violent felonies to community support services in lieu of the filing of criminal charges.

We are developing an alternative system that attempts to address some of the conditions that lead to incarceration such as homelessness, mental health, addiction, lack of employment, and opportunities.

We hope to build a sustainable network of providers in collaboration with law enforcement and district attorneys to expand the capacity of the community to support those in need.Under the direction of the Manager, the System Navigator of Alternatives to Incarceration will provide screening and assessment of individuals detained by law enforcement and determined eligibility for diversion services.

Provide navigation services to ensure clients’ gain access to access to housing, healthcare, substance abuse, and social services through our network of partner agencies.

This is a field-based position and will be co-located at the Police Station.

The right person for this position is innovative and will draw on trauma informed practices, Restorative Justice, harm reduction, building resilience, and community safety planning to prevent recidivism.Please apply for one of the following shifts:Tuesday through Saturday (Full-time) Day Shift: 7am – 3:30 pmSunday through Thursday (Full Time) Swing Shift: 3pm – 11:30 pmTuesday through Saturday (Full-time) Night Shift: 11pm 7:30amSunday and Monday (Part-time 24 h/week): Sun/Mon 7am – 3:30pm and Fri 3pm – 11:30pmSunday and Monday (Part-time 24 h/week): Sun/Mon 11pm – 7:30am and Saturday 3pm – 11:30pm Key Responsibilities Conduct engagement and orient new participants to the program and its expectations.Complete a thorough screening to identify qualification in program.Conduct intake, assessment, and enrollment of participants; identify strengths and needs.Create a transition plan for clients released from custody and coordinate Transportation for participantsProvide housing navigation services through our network of housing providers.Referral and linkage as needed to mental health and addiction treatment.

Including assistance with housing, benefits, employment, education, transportation, childcare, medical and other services.Coordination with Peer Navigator/Driver for client transportation needs.Empathetic support and feedback that is trauma informed and culturally competent.Responsible for maintaining all documentation at a high standard, completed in a timely manner, and accurate.Collect all pre and post-surveys and outcome measures.

Interface with multidisciplinary team in treatment planning and service delivery.Maintain confidentiality in compliance with agency, HIPAA and 42-CFR standards.Adheres to all policies and procedures established by HealthRIGHT 360’s Health & Safety program, including but not limited to; participating in emergency preparedness drills, reporting any potential safety hazards to the appropriate party, and following proper protocols for response to emergency situations.

Education and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:High School Diploma or GED with minimum of three (3) years’ experience providing case management and experience working with justice-involved individuals and families.

Desired: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice or other related human service area.Minimum of two (2) years’ experience providing case management.Minimum of two (2) years’ experience working with justice-involved individuals and families.Skilled in organizing and maintaining accurate charts/records.Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and internet applications.Required:Live scan DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance (Must not be on parole or probation for a minimum of two years).Tag: IND100.
