Curative is a healthcare startup founded in 2020 that provided 5% of all COVID PCR tests in the U.S. and administered 2M COVID vaccinations. We care about population health, preventative care, patient experience and patient outcomes. We’re re-inventing and re-building healthcare to align incentives on patient outcomes.Curative is searching for a healthcare economist who can work with our data and clinical teams to quantify patient outcomes and identify the effect of lifestyle and healthcare initiatives on them. We want to understand how capital is spent in large healthcare systems, and how this can be optimized to reduce costs and improve patient outcomes. This position would be ideal for candidates with advanced academic training and/or industry experience in healthcare consulting and government healthcare policy.**Responsibilities**+ Analyze health care and hospital systems to understand where costs and patient value are distributed+ Pull in public and private data sets that can be used to inform our decision making+ Lead and manage research projects regarding health plan strategy+ Design healthcare incentives and interventions that will provide the largest improvements in patient health outcomes.+ Track and publish patient outcome data in our patient cohorts+ Help clinicians calculate and understand intervention Quality-Adjusted Life Years (QALYs)+ Work with our product team to nudge patient and provider behaviours and assess outcomes+ Bring strong understanding to the company around economic and incentive systems in U.S. healthcare**Desired qualifications**+ PhD (or advanced degree) in economics, statistics, health services research, public health, public policy, or a related discipline.+ Experience working with EHR and healthcare claims data+ Experience implementing and evaluating healthcare interventions+ Experience working on value based healthcare systems is a plus+ Clinical experience or qualifications a strong plus+ Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as SAS, STATA, R, Python or equivalent+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills+ Desire to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment**About us**Curative is a leader in on-demand public health service programs and healthcare delivery infrastructure.
