to manage the Partnerships for Success Grant (PFS).

The PFS is a state substance use disorder prevention grant which is sub-granted to communities, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

The PFS aims to reduce underage drinking, marijuana use, and methamphetamine use with a comprehensive array of prevention strategies.

This position will participate in overall program planning, implementation, and management of the funding at the health district level, within defined guidelines, in coordination with the Idaho Regional Behavioral Health Board.The ideal candidate will have the following:+ Bachelor’s degree in public health or another social science-related field + Knowledge of behavior change theory, community health and assessments, behavioral health and substance abuse, rural health issues and cultural competenceThis is a limited service position with funding through approximately September 2023.Example of DutiesResponsibilities:+ Conduct a limited community assessment;+ Develop project action plans, goals, objectives, and work timelines;+ Work with a variety of stakeholders to write and implement action plans;+ Plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate regional substance misuse prevention activities;+ Develop and monitor service/contract agreements and quality assurance;+ Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations;+ Manage a program budget;+ Coordinate media campaign material dissemination within the district;+ Facilitate the implementation of evidence-based substance misuse prevention curriculum for community;+ Identify other agencies and organizations as project partners;+ Consult with and provide problem solving assistance to partners on matters related to project activities;+ Report progress in accordance to state requirements;+ Perform other duties as assigned.Minimum QualificationsGood knowledge of:+ Public health education principles and practices to include needs assessment, information dissemination and community organization relating to common health problems;+ Basic disease etiologies and preventive strategies;+ Survey methods and basic statistics used to collect and interpret data;+ Training methods.

Experience: + Developing or reviewing, and evaluating health-related informational material; + Developing, implementing, and evaluating public health education programs.

01 Minimum Qualification: Please describe how you have gained good knowledge of public health education principles and practices to include needs assessment, information dissemination, and community organization relating to common health problems.

Typically gained through successful completion of the core requirements of a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Education or Health Science that included at least nine credits of college coursework in public health education principles and practices such as: Foundations for Community Health Education; Community Health Education Planning and Evaluation; and Health Program Planning and Evaluation; OR, experience and on-the-job training working in public education that included the above elements; AND approximately one year experience developing or reviewing and evaluating health-related informational material; OR Master’s degree in Public Health.

02 Minimum Qualification: Please describe how you have gained good knowledge of basic disease etiologies and preventive strategies.

Typically gained by approximately 9 credits of college coursework in health and/or science such as microbiology, epidemiology, and human physiology AND approximately one year of experience; or Master’s degree in Public Health.

Describe your specific job duties if you have experience in a health agency providing prevention services or implementing preventive health strategies.

If you are licensed in a health care or environmental health profession please include the type of license.

03 Minimum Qualification: Please describe how you have gained a good knowledge of survey methods and basic statistics used to collect and interpret data.

Typically gained by approximately six credits of college coursework or equivalent; OR, on-the-job training and experience that covered survey methods and basic statistics used to collect, analyze and interpret data.

If you have experience participating in conducting a community health assessment or producing a health report in a public or private agency or if you have developed, implemented, or evaluated (with published results) an assessment, please describe this experience.

04 Minimum Qualification: Please describe how you have gained a good knowledge of training methods.

Typically gained by approximately 40 hours of formal training in training skills which should include: adult learning theory; developing performance objectives; course design and evaluation methods; and presentation skills.

(Typical courses qualifying would be: 40 hour train-the-trainer; learning methods in teacher training curriculum; student teaching; experience presenting formal training sessions to groups, coupled with some educational background.) Describe your specific job duties if you have experience developing curriculums and providing training to adults in a health care setting.
