This is a night position, 12 hour shifts with every third weekend. At any time, you may also check your application status online in your Fairview applicant profile at this link.Responsibilities/Job Description:The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s) in this 23 bed ICU. The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.This multi-diagnosis Intensive Care Unit cares for critically ill patients 18 years and older. Average daily census of 20. Currently have 80 FTEs / 120 employees in the department. We see approx. 5-8 open heart surgical patients per week as well as other major surgical patients, acute respiratory failure, OD / withdrawal, medical and surgical neuro and minimal trauma. We provide Telemedicine ICU services for the system and take care of patients with IABP, Impella, hypothermia therapy, CRRT however we transfer patients requiring LVAD or ECMO to UMMC.About this position:This position reports to the Nurse Manager and Patient Care SupervisorWe are a 23 bed unitApproximately half of our RN staff has obtained an advanced certification in Critical Care NursingQualifications:Required QualificationsMN RN LicenseBLS for Health Care ProviderMust have Current ICU experiencePreferred QualificationsCurrent Post-op Surgical experience preferredCurrent Charge RN Experience preferredOther Required SkillsExcellent Customer Service and Communication SkillsPositive attitudeAdapt to an ever changing environment.Must practice on-stage and off-stage behaviors consistently and appropriately.Desired SkillsDemonstrate the ability to work under stress in a variety of situationsAbility to exercise independent judgmentDemonstrate eagerness for continued learning and certification opportunities
