Health Hero Florida is hiring a Registered Nurse (RN) and/or a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to administer COVID, Tdap and Flu Vaccines to Adults and Children (Ages K-12). We are seeking nurses who are eager to protect the community from vaccine preventable diseases by providing immunization services to all age groups throughout the state of Florida.
Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Qualifications:
- Licensure: an active License or Certification relative to your profession (Clinical staff only)
- One (1) year of prior professional nursing experience preferred
- Copy of BLS or CPR Card (Clinical staff only)
- Successfully complete a AHCA Fingerprint Level II Background Clearance
- Successfully complete a FL DOE Fingerprint Level II Background Clearance and Photo ID Badge
- Valid Florida Driver’s License
- Copy of a valid Auto Insurance Policy
- Knowledge and understanding of the dosage, administration, age indications, precautions, contraindications and possible adverse reactions related to the vaccine being administered
- Knowledge of intramuscular injection technique and subcutaneous injection technique
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Must be able to travel extensively within the State of Florida (Road Warrior Preferred)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Able to stand for 2-hour intervals and lift to 50 pounds
- Willing, if needed, to be tested for COVID-19
- Comfortable working with all age groups (Children, adults, and seniors)
Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) Expectations:
- Commitment to at least ONE FULL WEEK of availability during the vaccination season (if clinical staff) or 4 full weeks if working as a Team Lead
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs. and stand for extended periods of time
- Hold a valid state driver’s license and be willing to drive to and from clinic sites
- Expected to travel and stay overnight for a week at a time in neighboring counties if needed
- Flexibility to work long days (up to 8-hour shifts)
- Proper attire is required (Clinical staff – scrubs and closed toe shoes; Team Leads – Business Casual)
- Willingness to communicate through text, email, phone calls and mobile apps
- Responsible for tracking your time for each shift – payment could be significantly delayed if time is not reported in a timely manner
Training: Successful completion of training is mandatory. All employees involved in the project must successfully complete training.
Classification: As a temporary employee, you will complete an I-9 form for employment eligibility in the U.S. that will be processed through E-Verify. You will also receive a W-2 at the end of the year for earned wages. Benefits are not included in this temporary position.
