PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:CaregiversCreates an environment that sets the conditions for caregiver engagement.Role models ChristianaCare core values, leans into crucial conversations, and actively embraces a diverse caregiver populationActively mentors and develops caregivers Manages and oversees the contractual relationships with all physicians and outside vendors. Manage all the physician compensation programs, including collaborating with Service Line leadership and Medical Group leaders to establish quality and productivity metrics and targets based on ChristianaCare’s physician compensation philosophy. Evaluates performance against targets routinely and partners with clinical physician leader(s) to share information with practice clinicians.Establishes and maintains effective communication and relationships with office staff, physicians, and other departments within Christiana Care and affiliated hospitals.OperationsAligns strategy and vision to develop business plans that capitalize on new services while minimizing risk.Directs the planning and implementation of the services and practices to provide optimal patient care and experience.Collaborates with Service Line physician(s), APC, and nursing leaders to set the strategic and operational direction of the Service line Creates and leads a structure for setting and executing all Service Line objectives in alignment with system annual operatingplan goals and medical group strategy Develops, maintains, and revises practice philosophy, goals, policies, procedures, and standards in accordance with national guidelines and best practices Oversees the management of all aspects of the assigned physician practices including personnel, fiscal and compliance activitiesMaintains key performance data and metrics by site of service as well as by provider. Develops and maintains capital and operating budgetsMaintains continued profitability of the assigned services through effective budget management coupled with the pursuit of cost reductions as well as exploration and implementation of new business opportunities and/or optimization of current services.Defines and monitors billing data standards and maintains patient billing integrity across all systems-electronic and manual and remains up to date on changes in professional coding and reimbursementWork with campus leaders to implement and collaborate on acute strategyMonitors departmental productivity and strategizes with direct reports to implement appropriate action steps designed to improve upon the results.Patient ExperienceManages patient satisfaction programs and outcomes within the Service Line(s)ClinicalIn collaboration with Clinical and Operational leadership continues to identify opportunities and implement action items to improve clinical outcomes, efficiency, effectiveness, and service excellenceSupports a culture of safety and ensures that all practices adhere to safety standardsGeneral Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices. Reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.Performs other related duties as required.SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS:Frequent contact with Service Line clinical and operational leaders, Physician Leader, Nursing Leader, Medical Directors of clinical areas for related clinical practices, Medical Group Operations, and other professional staff from various departments, and community agencies.DIRECTION/SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:Caregivers including practice staff, Directors, Practice managers and others as assignedDIRECTION/SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Vice President of Acute Care, Medical GroupEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:Master’s degree in a related field such as nursing, medical technology, business, or healthcare management required. Minimum of five (5) years healthcare experience managing people leaders required, with a focus on quality, safety, regulatory, practice management, and accreditation preferred.KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS:Proficiency and knowledge of strategic and business planning including development and implementation of business plans and financial forecasts. Skill in directing people of diverse backgrounds and responsibilities.Skill in payor contracting, billing, reimbursement, and management of denials.Ability to influence across boundaries and collaborate with leaders, clinicians and other staff.Ability to accurately analyze and synthesize complex quantitative and qualitative data and information.Exceptional project management skillsDemonstrated results orientation with an ability to lead redesign of the practice and processes to drive results Excels at oral, written, and relational communication skills; organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.Skill in analytical and critical thinkingExperience with continuous improvement methodologies such as “Lean Concepts” preferred.Knowledge of public health principles, theories, and practices.
