DescriptionSummary:Provides essential leadership and coordination of patient care services on the specified nursing unit; coordinates the allocation of staff and other resources according to departmental needs; facilitates the on-going achievement of the unit, department and facilities mission and goals; promotes the development and improvement of processes directed at providing quality, economical healthcare services; provides direct patientcare on a routine basis.The Christus Spohn Cancer Center (CSCC) offers a full range of advanced treatment options.

Our Medical Oncology team consists of two physicians and three advanced practitioners who are over both inpatient and outpatient services in multiple locations throughout the Christus Spohn System.

Each of the Medical Oncologists typically carries a patient load of 25 patients per day in clinic, and the infusion/chemotherapy department performs services for approximately 45 patients per day at our main location, and nearly 20 patients per day at our second location.

Radiation Oncology includes two locations that offer the services of external beam radiation, Tomotherapy, and CyberKnife.

The laboratory provides a full range of hematology and metabolic services.

We also offer a Palliative Care consultation program, which has an active daily census of 15 – 20 patients per day.

The CHRISTUS Spohn Cancer Center is accredited by the Commission on Cancer and is the only regional cancer center to receive this honor.
